Western Grebe Habitat

[edit]

Every year, during the last week in April, flocks of Western Grebes arrive in the Shuswap area of Central British Columbia. Their courtship dances and distinct chirps bring many people to the longest fresh water wharf in Canada. The shoreline presents a large breeding area which the city of Salmon Arm strictly protects from April to September.

The photograph to the right is now available; I can crop it closer if necessary so it can be used on the article, as it is slightly better quality than the image that is already there. However, it shows less detail on the bird's head so you may wish to keep the one that is already there. I just thought I would point this one out :) Feel free to leave a message on my Commons talk page if you'd like to request a cropped version. — Editor at Large(speak) 18:51, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
